Our Team

Cecily Batiste Dawson, LPC

Easy to talk to, empathetic, calming, and non-judgmental are words people have used to describe me not only as a person but also as a licensed professional counselor. I provide a space where you can process your emotions and also begin to heal so that you can ultimately begin to experience life. I specialize in treating PTSD and other trauma-related diagnoses. I provide traditional talk therapy as well as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. I am here to guide you through the process of not only living life, but experiencing it and enjoying each moment.

As a TBRI® Practitioner and EMDR Consultant, I use a trauma-informed approach with all clients, guiding them to the light at the end of the tunnel even when they cannot see it themselves. From the first session, we identify obtainable goals that will help you feel empowered to take the lead in your life. Although I tend to practice from psychodynamic and trauma theoretical perspective, I understand that these theoretical orientations are not a one size fits all, and am able to implement strategies and techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy and solution focused strategies in treatment. Helping my clients navigate through the toughest times of their lives is the most fulfilling experience, and I look forward to helping you improve your quality of life.
